On garlic: In Nevada, garlic is planted in late fall. In Fallon, we plant in October or as late as early November.   The garlic sprouts and basically sits dormant over the winter and begins growing in February-March depending on weather.  It can be picked as green garlic as early as late March or early April.  It begins forming bulbs in May-June and is usually harvested around the second week of July.  It is then dried and boxed and usually will keep all summer into the fall.  ---Farmer Rick
